Tracy Spiridakos
Tracy Spiridakos, a Canadian actress. She was the Teletoon child's comedy series Majority Rules' Becky Richards. From 2009 until 2010, she starred as Becky Richards on Teletoon's Children's Comedy series Majority Rules! Then she starred as Charlotte "Charlie" Matheson on the NBC post-apocalyptic series of science fiction Revolution from 2012 to 2014, for which she was nominated for an Saturn Award for Best Actress on TV. Annika Johnson was her role in the A&E television drama Bates Motel. Since 2017 Spiridakos has been a part of the NBC police drama Chicago P.D. playing Detective Hailey Upton. Spiridakos was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Greek-born parents and restaurant owners George and Anastasia Spiridakos She has two brothers. When she was born her family moved to Skala, Greece, south of Sparta. They returned to Canada in 1992. She is strongly connected to her Greek family and speaks fluent Greek. Spiridakos began acting when she was in junior high school. She continued her studies at the Actors Training Centre of Manitoba. In 2000, she graduated from Oak Park High School in Winnipeg. Spiridakos left Winnipeg in 2007. She got her first TV appearance on Supernatural within weeks. She continued to work on television by playing walk-on characters in Bionic Woman's The L Word, Hellcats, Psych and other shows. Spiridakos played in the TV movie Goblin, and the web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy. She also appeared on Being Human, as Brynn McLean who played the werewolf. In 2009, the actress was awarded her first role as a starring character in Majority Rules! Canada, where she played 15-year old Becky Richards. Her movie debut in the year 2011 by starring in Rise of the Planet of the Apes and also filmed the low-budget Michael Greenspan-helmed thriller, Kill for Me, with her co-stars Donal Logue and Katie Cassidy. Spiridakos was Sammi's character in Rags (2012) in the Nickelodeon original movie. Spiridakos was then offered the leading role in Revolution as Charlotte Matheson (survivor of an unimaginative future society) and telecast on NBC television. She auditioned for the part while attending her first pilot season in Los Angeles. Spiridakos made her pilot in Atlanta. The first season was shot in Wilmington, North Carolina. For her performance in the pilot, she was nominated to the Saturn Award for Best Actress on TV. She was beaten out by the actress from Fringe, Anna Torv. Production relocated to Austin, Texas for the series' second season.
